The selection will be based on the environment the product will be exposed to during its service life.
Also consideration should be given to any certification that may be required. This can extend to fire testing, fume toxicity or water potable.
In most cases we are able to go to our well-selected compounds we hold in-house at our raw materials stores, these are tried and tested to meet the needs of most applications.
If some more specialised material is required for the application, we can refer to our extensive library of formulations.
This has been built up with the knowledge of technicians from Dunlop, Leyland and Birmingham and other sources of technical rubber formulation.
If the application is more complex, we can assist in having compound developed and tested to meet the exact requirements of the project. This is best taken after the other routes have been explored first.
In some cases we are able to produce product prototypes if a material with similar characteristics, while the custom compound is being developed and tested. This can result on improved time lines.
Our downstream rubber curing cover all the principal systems, including, Autoclave (steam), hot air and salt bath.
So we are not restricted to limit ourselves to compounds that are compatible to a single curing method.
